Jerusalem Donkeys
Rescued in March of 2019, Haley (female, also known as a "Jenny") and Watson (male, or "Jack") came to the Farm as part of our largest rescue ever, with four animals rescued all at once, two horses and two donkeys. While the horses have moved on to other homes, Haley and Watson are here to stay. Called "Jerusalem Donkeys", they are named after the black cross that forms along their spine, neck and shoulders.
Both donkeys are fairly timid, however they learn real quick when you have cookies or not, and will risk getting close for a treat. Once they get used to you, they don't mind gentle petting and scratches. Watch out for Haley when you have a treat in your hand. She's quick to snatch it, and anything around it including your fingers!
Everyone around Grace Falls Farm knows when it's getting close to feeding time, as both donkeys are well known to let out a long sorrowful bray when they think you are heading their way with their next meal. Once you hear it, you'll know why we could never say no to these beautiful creatures!
